Life in The Villages® is all about convenience, community, and comfort—and when it comes to grocery shopping, residents have no shortage of choices. Whether you’re planning a quick weeknight dinner, stocking up for a neighborhood block party, or shopping organic for a healthier lifestyle, The Villages® and surrounding areas offer a diverse mix of grocery stores to meet your needs. From longtime local favorites to big-box warehouse clubs, here’s a helpful guide to where you can fill your cart (and maybe grab a fresh pub sub while you’re at it).

🥦 1. Publix

With nine locations across The Villages®—like Southern Trace and Mulberry Grove—Publix is the go-to grocery store for many residents. Known for its clean aisles, friendly staff, and fresh deli (including the famous Publix subs), it’s a dependable choice for day-to-day needs. Many locations also include a pharmacy and offer online ordering with delivery or curbside pickup.

2. Sprouts Farmers Market

Located at 330 Buena Vista Blvd, Sprouts offers a fresh, health-conscious twist on grocery shopping. With a wide selection of organic produce, bulk nuts and grains, vitamins, fresh meats, and deli options, it caters to shoppers looking for wholesome and natural products. It also supports Instacart for easy home delivery.

3. The Fresh Market

This upscale grocery store at 3740 Wedgewood Lane is perfect for foodies and entertainers. It features premium meats, gourmet cheeses, baked goods, and chef-curated meal kits. It’s a smaller, boutique-style store with an emphasis on quality and presentation—great for picking up something special for dinner guests.

4. Walmart Supercenter & Neighborhood Market

  • The Walmart Supercenter at 4085 Wedgewood Lane combines groceries with everything from electronics to clothing and home goods.
  • The Neighborhood Market on Heald Way is a more compact, grocery-only format that’s ideal for quick in-and-out trips. Both options offer low prices and late hours for added convenience.

5. Winn‑Dixie

With three locations nearby, Winn‑Dixie brings a bit of Southern charm and competitive pricing. Known for its weekly BOGO deals and in-store bakery, it’s a solid choice for traditional grocery shopping. You’ll also find a full-service deli, pharmacy, and liquor store at most locations.

6. Super Target

  • Location: 716 N US‑441, The Villages, FL 32159
Super Target offers a little bit of everything—groceries, home goods, clothing, and even a Starbucks inside. Their PFresh format includes fresh produce, meats, and dairy, making it a great one-stop shop for all your household needs. Online ordering and same-day drive-up pickup are available for added convenience.

7. Sam’s Club (Warehouse Membership Store)

  • Location: 755 N US‑441, Lady Lake, FL 32159
Just outside The Villages®, Sam’s Club offers bulk groceries, fresh bakery items, a pharmacy, tire center, gas station, and even hearing and optical centers. It’s ideal for larger households or anyone who likes to stock up and save.

8. Costco (Coming Soon!)

  • Planned Site: Buffalo Ridge Shopping Center, near Wedgewood Lane
Costco is officially coming to The Villages® area, with construction already underway on a 162,000 sq ft store that will include a gas station and all the usual Costco departments. Once open (likely in late 2025), it will provide another great warehouse option for Villagers looking for big savings and variety under one roof.
